Fantastic ride today! Thanks to all the brave riders who suffered through the perfect weather and stunningly beautiful views! Special thanks to Eddie for showing us around his new stomping grounds, including a very cool local bike shop with some amazing vintage bikes on display. Unfortunately, the owner had his Confente at home but maybe it’ll be in the display rotation the next time we’re down.

Looks like I missed a good day!

Too much going on here and we have next week’s ride to the Cycling HOF in Davis. Miss seeing Eddie!

That Bianchi had a Paris-Roubaix shifter (the second, one-levered version of the Cambio Corsa). which means the bike is almost certainly from 1950, give or take a year. It was soon after this that Tullio decided that the better part of value was to look to Simplex for inspiration and create the Gran Sport RD. so the run of the Paris-Roubaix was pretty short.

The owner also had an early Tom Ritchey hanging on the wall. That Wizard was concours-level gorgeous.

Leather shoe-protectors on the Frejus' toe-clips. Nice touch.

Thanks to Eddy for organizing this and to those that came and rode. I had an extremely pleasant time! Weather was just about perfect as we're bikes and roads.

That’s funny- After a forty year love-hate relationship with golf, every time I ride past those beautiful courses, I consider myself lucky to be riding a bike and not cursing the gods for a slice that crossed three fairways.

You were right on the price of that pedal car ride. $159.00 per car (which held two people)! Wow!

Great pics! Sorry I missed it. I just did the Hand Car tour today. It's pricey but it was pretty fun.

Appears a grand day out.
that Masi jersey is different than what Masi California sent with the first bike a new dealer received.
that was yellow- blue to the sides and looping over the shoulders, blue Chainstitch Masi California.

This one looks fun though.

I'm pretty confident that this jersey is a "fantasy piece". I purchased it through a seller on eBay Italy who stated that it was a vintage jersey. Yep, the jersey itself is a vintage jersey, but it's of French manufacture, from a French jersey company that produced lots of simple, colored jerseys. I suspect that someone took this vintage French jersey and had a seamstress in Italy with a chain stitching machine decorate it with the Masi stuff. Can't complain too much- They did a great job with it.
