Back when these were new, compared to a Nishiki custom sport - the vast majority liked the shifting of the nishiki more. But liked the ride of the Peugeot better.

on occasion we sold the Peugeot with upgrades to Japanese derailleurs. Customer got all they wanted.

steel rims and 27” wheels will be a setback, there are tires, but many less To choose from than before.
