Nice Ciocc oddjob2 , that looks like at least 65cm.

I put this one in the category of ones I should never have sold. A 66cm Centurion Elite GT touring bike that I keep telling (begging) the new owner when he is done with it to let me know. A great allrounder that would take nice wide tires that I now prefer.

Tall guy handlebar rant:
I peaked at 6'5, over 60 now so not so much anymore. Have big hands, power forward big, not o lineman big. Palm basketball w 2 fingers, thumb & index. My hands wrap around a handlebar like a normal hand around a pencil. I put extra tape around the flats & on the top of the drops. The Lotus which I bought new with high density foam grips of a manufacturer I can't recall feel and fit like a dream. I'd post a picture of it but it's only a 63. End of rant.

At 5'7" - I found a 60 cm Peugeot Vitus Super 980 fit me well. Only problem was the seapost had to be way down to be comfortable. Its larger than my ideal size of 54 cm but since I could straddle it and still reach the pedals it wasn't much of an issue.

No one makes tall frames for smaller riders any more and with proportionately sized bikes available today, you have to raise the stem a lot to get a comfortable reach.

A tall frame isn't a problem as the long as the top tube is proportional in length. Usually the fit works on older bikes and taller riders can mount even taller frames as long as the top tube allows them to reach the handlebars.

As long the rider can steer the bike comfortably, that's all that matters.

Ooh, this deserves a bump. Anybody who's never had an SBDU frame oughta get one immediately! The ride in incredible, and while you're enjoying the ride you'll know you're riding the fruits of GOD's (Gerald O'Donovan) labor and big brains. I've had a few, but none in the stable right now. If I had just one more hook and a spare $grand.... I like the uncommon Blue/Black and even rarer Gold Champagne paint schemes better than the familiar Red/Yellow, but they're all good.

Very few people are very tall.

Any one over 7" tall has to go custom.

After the dimension, e.g.: 65cm, one should add either (c-c) or (c-t).

Anyone need a frame? I have a frameset hanging in my barn. It's a Nishiki Olympic or something. It's heavy chromoly, about 68cm. If so, email me at the address below. I can't ask for money in this thread, so you can reimburse me in tires.
I recognize the face. (who could forget?) You commented on my acquisition of the 70cm Panasonic. Now I'm looking for another 70cm (c-c).

Any frame below 64cm (c-c) is a bike just at puberty and needs to grow a bit to qualify as a man's bicycle.
I personally draw the line at 66cm (c-c).

Does anyone want this? I'll offer it for the cost of shipping. It's nothing special, and there is some rust which could use some remediation. It would be good for a clunker/town bike. It's a Nishiki Sport, 68cm seat tube. The frame is chrome-moly, and the fork is probably gaspipe.

60-63cm frames are small frames available as a stock size by almost every frame builder ever to build bikes. Its like buying shoes size 13 and under, you can find them in ANY shoe store, on sale even. For the small stuff 63cm and below there are thousands of C&V and Bike Forums threads for that crowd.

This is our ONE Tall bike thread. The ONE place that isn't for the small bikes.

Thank you.

the Hetchins has some pretty stays. Now, if it were only 68cm (c-c) or larger, I might go for it.
