A question on frame material eras

I remember growing up in the 50's & 60's in a neighborhood full of men that served in WW2. As a kid I got to check out all kinds of neat souveneirs like Nazi flags, Mauser rifles and Japanese bayonetes. Back then, American, English, French and, Italian bikes were considered OK. Especially Schwinn, Raleigh, Bottecchia, Peugeot and, Gitane. But....................................... watch out for anybody brave enough to ride around on a Japanese bike. Back then, they all had American sounding names like "American Flyer". But, they were really "Made in Japan" . This charade went on until around the mid 70's. After that, it was all about Fuji, Miyata, Shogun, Sekine and, Kuwahara. Japanese bikes were suddenly cool. And, they cornered the entire bike market after 1990 too. Whatever. Be good. Have fun.
