Terrible for salt environments with the factory rims, FYI. The chrome gets surface rust pretty quickly, but the internal wall support that forms the bead seat is prone to rotting out too, if left in a corrosive environment.

The OP's location is listed as "S.F." I assumed that indicated San Francisco, which has salt water on three sides.

If I had a larger boat, I'd be looking for an aluminum frame and a 3 speed hub. I'm not sure what hub I'd use, but "as rinko as possible" would be part of the consideration.
