Yes, along with Dunelt and some others, Raleigh bought them in 1960.

So that might make my '60 Armstrong among the last batch made In Birmingham. I have a Hercules Made in Birmingham and a Hercules Made in Nottingham. I wonder why the Armstrongs didn’t read Nottingham but went with Made in England.

Yeah, that's an interesting question. Does your Armstrong have the serial number on the left dropout, or on the under-side of the bottom-bracket?
