your battery location reminds me that I used to keep mine there as well, but inside a water bottle w/o the lid. I also insulated it with some bubble wrap before inserting into the water bottle. then used 2 plastic bags & rubber bands over the top to keep the weather out. how do you like having the battery there?

I DID have to adjust my brake cable length a little to clear the fenders but these canti brakes I have are INFINITELY adjustable it seems like.

I was just trying to remember a bike I had where I cut the fenders & lifted them & wondering if the cables prevented me from lifting them. but looks like they weren't a problem. I did it in stages, lifting them once them again higher. also worked on another bike doing the same thing especially when I mounted up the studded tires
