this thread has me worrried. i bought a couple 12 speed M9100 XTR/DA chains from merlin and they arrived in practically unbranded plastic bags. i assumed they were just OEM packaging. but …. ?
they look genuine, and haven’t broken, but i have had some new drivetrain noises.

If your drivetrain is making new noises, that's perhaps from running a new chain on (at least somewhat) worn chainrings and cassette cogs. Run it for a couple hundred miles and it'll quiet down.

yeah… the photo was a little surprising. it’s a pretty new chain, not abused, no chain drops, etc. doesn’t look that way to the naked eye but the scraping on the quick link is wierd.
