Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I’m riding a 2018 Trek Domane ALR 5 and it is very comfortable. With the IsoSpeed, 32mm tires and carbon fork, it’s very smooth even on rough stuff.

I ride a Six13 (AL/Carbon) and AL gravel and AL tandem, although I prefer sreel for a tandem.

I have about 16 non AL bikes, mostly for my kid, and piles of Carbon Fibre. I ride AL.

I've always really wanted a six13! Does yours fit 28s?

The issue might be brakes. The frame clears, not most calipers. Tubular 27s are as plush as I can think of outside of gravel and mud - that barely clear brakes.

My main ride is an 88 Cannondale Criterium series in the 19lb range. Climbs like a machine, very quick. The handling is intuitive if not a bit twitchy. One fun bike to ride.

Just bought an aluminum bike from Bikes Direct for winter rides (snow, salt, etc.). I put 25mm tires on it and some lighter wheels I had lying around. I don't stay out as long in the winter (today was 27F in my area, but no wind). Might want to see how it does with 28mm 4Seasons Conti's.
