Well, we were in the same race.
You weren't te guy I saw pushing his bike along on two knees at the first barrier were you? LOL. I think he was in all black. (I suspect that is the guy that went down in front of you)
Needless to say we were in the same general vicinity at the same time.
Racing state this weekend?

Yup I'll be at State on Sunday. I'll be in a bright blue Team Extreme Kit on an old steel Trek "ale" colored SS. See ya there!

Time for some humor. Warning - contains naughty biker language like you'd hear on any training ride - so turn down the volume, or up, whatever:

how much bike maintenance is necessary after a race around here? just wipe things down, or ?? I don't have a private garage, how do you guys in condos/apartment buildings take care of cleaning?

That really depends on the weather. St. Charles was a mess, the other races where pretty clean.

Damage
Extreme case, but you get the point....it can be bad. For the most part just wash everything down if you need to and then dry and re lube chain.

I used to do that when I had a tub I didn't care about because I didn't own it. Now-->garden hose. in late fall, run one from the slop sink in the basement.
Man, my wife and bro saw 5 riders cut the course today on the second lap. Not by a little bit--saving somewhere around 50-60 yards and adding 15 seconds to the gap and the chasers (one of whom was my teammate). Not midpackers either, riders in a few places where it actually matters. Thats pretty serious. I mean, a few yards in a strange corner, no one cares. But to cut 50 or 60 yards of the course is major. I emailed the director--he said he'd mention it on the CCC site.

I've had a couple of incidents before where I've taken it up with the rider himself or reported it to a team captain if I couldn't find the rider afterwards. Usually a waste of time.

Yeah. You're prob right Carlosflanders...I hope that getting called out on the site may deter someone. There is no way for a director or officials to see everytthing, so hey.

yeah. After thinking about it. I've never seen any official take action against someone for cutting the course - Unless it was to get to the pits. Hopefully getting called out will prevent folks from doing it again.

Must have been a slow if that's the highlight of the weekend.
I didn't get to the WI State Champs but Tristan Schouten (Planet Bike) is the new State Champ. Not bad for someone who works 50 hours a week for UPS.

Dunno who won the woman's title.

Would one of those hand-pump pressurized sprayers be useful?

WI state results are up:
https://www.wicycling.org/index.php?o...ults&Itemid=98
Fun course, I was behind the 8-ball day after a couple guys stopped in the sandpit right off the bat -- that 37th spot could have been mine! LOL.
Saw Speedster22's bike at the line (Ale colored? Check. Singlespeed? Check), didn't get a chance to talk.
Fun season.
Only 4 moths to the start of the 2010 racing season!

yeah man you too! I was waiting on some real mtn shoes to arrive (fit issue causing a ton of IT/knee/hip pain) so I was not going to get out to any of the other races till they came in. And they came in Sat afternoon.
