I have a few days in July I probably won’t be able to get anything but a short ride, but I’m going to try for 1,000 miles this month. Going to try to get more two-a-days in as well.

I would like to try riding the Minuteman Bikeway this summer. Starts in Arlington, goes by Lexington Battle Green, ends in Bedford. Then there is an unpaved stretch that goes into Concord. Overall about 30 miles roundtrip. Been wanting to try this route for a couple years now, but haven't made the time.
I'll try for 300 miles in July
7/1: 20.6
YTD: 1393.6

Beautiful day today - but HOT! Cooling towel on my neck was incredibly helpful. Probably would have had a hard time making it much more than 10 miles without it - and been miserable. How do you beat the heat?

Oy, June didn't go any better than May, but in July, there's hope. Only rode once so far, but it was twice as many miles as I rode in all of June (yeah, 13 instead of 6.5, it sounds better without the numbers). Would've been even longer, but got a leak about 4 miles in, hoped the sealant would stop it, but it didn't (time for a sealant recharge), so I rode until I'd used up half of my CO2 cartridges and then rode home. Got home with rear tire at 18 psi. The good news, even after being off the bike this long, it felt great. But I've got a birthday ride next month, and that's going to be a challenge at my current level of (non) fitness.
Monthly Goal: 150 miles
7/3 - 13.2 mi.

I'll try for 300 miles in July
7/1: 20.6
7/3: 19.8
MTD: 40.4
YTD: 1413.4
Another roadside repair. Guy had his bike upside down and I asked if he needed help. His front derailleur was stuck on the small gear and would not shift, but he had no idea why. I could tell the cable was loose. Somehow the clamp on the shift cable had loosened, so I tightened it up with the 4 mm Allen I had in my bag and fixed it. He wasn't anywhere near as cute as Anita, the girl with the flat tire I fixed last week.
I had my own malfunction too. I have a Bryton Rider 320 computer. Long battery life, like 35 hours. I just charged it, but suddenly on the ride I got a low battery warning and it went dead. Recharged it and it seems fine now. We'll see.

The leak turned out to be in the sidewall, so a new tire was in order (glad I bought a couple spares when they were on sale). And that means ya gotta go spin the sealant around in the new tire, and what better way to do that than a ride. Too much to do today to ride any further, but I'll take what I can get these days.
