At one time there were bicycle trade shows, and I attended them. I always made it a point to collect the literature of the goofiest, most dangerous, or otherwise ridiculous products on offer. I thought I would take this opportunity to share my stash, and encourage others to share their own.
Let's start with the Surf Bike. This is so safe, no helmet is even required.

It's a thing.
Two dogs probably make it easier!
I've biked a couple times with my pooch, with the leash strapped around my waist. It was a ...thrill to be towed over 20mph on pavement but finagling the leash so it doesn't catch on the bars or controls was nerve-wracking.

Looking thru very old bike literature for crazy duds - I found the handwritten notes and tube selection from Jon on my Tallerico custom build. THANKS. . Also, a paper map from SCCC (i think) with the mountain roads I traveled back in the day in the Santa Cruz Mts (Bonny Doon, Zayante, Felton - Empire Grade, Mt Charlie, etc)
Nothing up to the standard of this thread, just some disappointing products.

Not both dogs at once though, that would be a disaster. And not competitive.
There was a learning curve for all of us. And maybe 3 crashes.

I had that Cateye Solar bicycle computer back in the 1980s. As I recall, it was one of the lowest-priced electronic bicycle speedometers that had an optional cadence function. And 4 different acoustic signs!! So at least one item on that contraption was of high quality.
Now if I'd just done a better job of preserving my riding mileage records from back then...

OK so here we go, a conventional crank that that turns an electric generator, that charges a battery which in turn drives a motor and then it drives the wheel... no appreciable benefit but sells for $3000. no need to charge it up at night... we are saving the planet!!!
