Every once in a while I think about a rough country touring bike.

And, I'd go for a traditional diamond frame, and a Top Tube length conducive to drop bars.

I mean, it's pretty easy to see that 700c gravel bikes are hybrids left over from the 1990s with drop bars slapped on.
