The working end of a hawk is a fearsome tool. I once scared one that was down on the ground on an MTB trail. He took of, with prey, but struggled to maintain flight and handle the load.
Bird dropped half a rabbit -- a perfect cut. You couldn't have done it better with a big, sharp nice.

Once in Seattle I came across a pigeon smashed on the road.
No blood or guts. Just perfectly squashed flat like a pressed flower.
I kind of wish I had my camera.
