I had the great fortune to find these beautiful NOS 3ttt Super Leggero Merckx bars. I honestly think they would have sold before I found them if the seller hadn’t accidentally misspelled “handel” bars in the title.
I met the seller on my way home from work today. After giving me a quick once over he decided that I looked like an ok guy, so he invited me into his garage to see his incredible collection of vintage balloon tire and even some prewar bikes. We had a good chat, and he told me the bars came from a friend that was clearing out some stuff, and had asked him to sell them. I’m really stoked to have these, and to locate such a fine set after only beginning my hunt just last week. But so far with the Walton, that’s kind of how things have happened
I won’t have a chance to mount these for a few days, but here’s a few pics.

I had some time after work today, so I installed the new 3ttt bars that I found on CL last week. Installation went fine, but I’ve had my bar tape off and on a few times now and it’s starting to show some wear from it. The finish on these bars is really great. It’s amazing how long they survived unscathed. Test ride in the morning.

After the test ride yesterday, I'm very happy with the new bars. I love the rounder bend of the drops compared to the ITM bars I had before. The ITMs are almost identical to the Cinelli Giro bars, with a shallow drop and not much room for larger hands. Really glad I was able to locate these.
