So I am about to hit 500 miles on this bike and have an upgrade question. I have an opportunity to grab a 700c aluminum wheelset for $40 locally (Weinmann 2113). I see it also has a 7 speed cassette on the rear wheel (13-30T). I think the original cassette is 14-28T based on old Panasonic catalogs. I see my brakes have at least 4 mm extra room to move the brake pads down front and rear. The Shimano Titlist RD apparently has a maximum cog capacity of 28T though (https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/site...eur_d-601.html). Do you all think I could swap in these rims? I do like the sound of aluminum rims after almost wiping out on a wet trail this weekend (skidding downhill) and the sound of 14 speeds, even if I may need a "new" RD.

Since my last post, I swapped out the front Sun aluminum rim with a Rigida Chromlux that was the front rim on my Raleigh Technium 400. It still rides great but I'm trying to switch to my fully aluminum rimmed Peugeot P8 for the fall and winter. Due to some issues with the Peugeot (sudden rear QR nut snapping off), I rode the Panasonic a good bit more and now it's up to 630 miles for the year. More pics soon...

A beautiful, crisp Maryland fall sunset. Probably it's hard to tell that the front rim is different, lol.
