there is nothing better than a fixer upper is there?

I have been seeing this Vintage Univega Rover sport frame since about march. the price $230 has not changed in all this time. if I remember correctly a rover sport ATB only sold for about $350 or so.

Am I crazy for thinking that (although the bike is in a really nice condition) that the asking price is way too high, I've only seen it for about the past year. I'm thinking of suggesting he post in on fleaBay.

Amazing. Some guy is asking $6000 for an early 70's Coppi on the 'bay.

https://cgi.ebay.com/1972-Vintage-Fau...d=p3286.c0.m14

Sure, it's in good shape, but I very much doubt the bike came with Shimano sidepull brakes. It's worth maybe 1/10 what he's asking.

Finally a really high quality photo on Craigslist...showing a really bent fork.
https://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bik/1390487228.html
FUJI BIKE GOOD SHAPE 120 OBO - $100 (SEMINOLE)
BIKE IS IN USED CONDITION BUT ALL GEARS WORK, SHIFTS AND RIDES WELL, $120 OR MAKE A GOOD OFFER. OPENED TO TRADES, FISHING STUFF, WATER TOYS I JUST BOUGHT A BOAT OR JUST SEND WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRADE. THIS BIKE NEW IS OVER $300. If you see the bike it is still up for sale or trade.

A reply...

Re: Fuji good shape 120 - $120 (brokenville)
This bike has obviously been in a front end collision. The forks are seriously bent in, which is clear in the first picture. You should take your bike and throw it in the trash rather than wasting peoples time to come see a broken bike

Actually, look at the last photo, which is kinda bizarre but really cool! It's the original sales receipt, with prices of all the extras, including the Shimano brakes for $70. Prices in dollars, descriptions in French.

I'm not saying it's worth $6000, you understand, but I stand by my assessment that it is pretty cool.

Maybe not the Sopranos, but he Scarfos apparently do? I would leave that bike in plain sight, in their neighborhood, and beat it out of town for a year or two. Of all the rotten luck, to steal a crime boss's neice/nephews bike.,,,,BD

Pretty odd looking ikes...

2 bikes, 1 scooter - $50

You get:

1. Evans 24" boy bike
2. Kia 20" girl bike
3. Red Scooter

Evans is in a good working condition and even comes with rack on rear. Kia might need front inner tube. PLease bring your own air pump or air compressor if you want to check on the tires. You get all 3 bikes for the low price of $50 cash!!

1980's vintage Cannondale with original paint job and very desirable frame! The bike has all original parts so you know it is legit. People buy this exact frame for thousands of dollars and turn it into the perfect bike. You can also see the great condition of the bike from the photos. e-mail me if your interested

Bonus points....it is in my immediate neighborhood. I am just going to have to restrain myself.

Free Colnago Road Bike (Old) (Sacramento)

Moving and I have to clean the garage! Early model Colnago road racing bike, probably 1960-62, in great condition. Always garaged. Rear brake cable needs replacing now. Back tire will need replacing soon. Perfect for collector or bike racing aficionado. I work nights and sleep days, so please call between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. Downtown. (916) 256-8160.

Somebody pissed somebody off in a bad way. This is awesome.

Not really a Wacky Craigslist Post™, but a portion of my response to many who said they loved the most recent edition of "Guide To Selling Bicycles," just before the post was taken down:

.... It is a bit of a pity that the both postings were flagged about two hours ago. Then again, there is a bright side: It keeps a virtual army of trolls - and others with absolutely no life - at bay doing something that wastes countless hours of their time, which they would otherwise use to irritate the rest of the world via internet forums, shopping mart queues, daily vehicular traffic, complaint desks, bike shops, laundromats, eateries, kitchens, crawl spaces, attics, and on the moon - if they had a means of getting to it. Pity that NASA doesn't have a program for sending trolls there - we'd finally have justified use for the space program, once and for all.
