Dreaming about the track during this brutal week of winter. After searching for a couple years, I bought this '09 Tiemeyer from a retired Canadian racer. I had the privilege of racing this amazing machine on eight different velodromes in 2018, my first full season in the elite fields. Looking forward to 2019!

Realistically that is only in Melbourne and Sydney. I'm in Melbourne and could reach easily that number including two indoor tracks. Country towns are much further apart but usually has a track of some description, even if only a low banked track around the outside of the town's sports oval.

it's still an embarrassment of riches.
here in NYC, we have two 3 hours away from each other, and the next closest 3 are all about a 10+ hour drive away.

Yeah, Australia has always seemed like a paradise for trackies. Japan has a lot of tracks, but 95% of them are pro keirin tracks and access generally ranges from "it's complicated" to "no" (but politely, of course).

Have you heard the rumours about moving the track at Hisense (or what ever its called) to cycling only arena around Albert park?
Sounds great but it would be nice if CV could manage 1 track before being given a second one :S

I hadn't heard, but would be great as Hisense arena is far too underutilized for cycling events!

My "retirement bike" that I pull out when I show up and scare everybody swervin' in some random B Grade 5 Lap Scratch:
My buddy Allen Anthony paints high-end bikes. The name of his thing is "echte liebe", which is German and translates to "Real Love" (or something to that effect). I think he did a great job on my custom Snyder. Snyder is now closed for business after 11 years.
From Seth:
Speaking of Pro Roadies on the Track...here is Oscar Clark (BMC Hincapie) riding a Snyder (with Seth Snyder on the right):

From Seth:
Happy Halloween! It is also our 11 year anniversary! This has been a wild ride, but I am exiting the roller coaster at the end of the year. There is plenty to be missed, but I have not found myself wanting to continue on the same path.

I first started spectating at the NSC Velodrome ten years ago. One of the dominant teams at the time had a deal with Dave, and they were all riding his frame. They were the first true track bikes I'd ever seen, and I thought they were hot ****. I feel lucky to have found one that fits, even though I started searching after he'd retired.

Thanks, Taras and Dalai. I have the great privilege of having queerpunk as a good friend and satellite teammates who has helped me with logistics at new tracks and encouraged me to take racing to a level I didn't think possible.

Here's my Super Pista. Ignore the saddle angle. I didn't have it adjusted properly when I took this photo.

Yeah, I think that Celeste Green is awesome. They could totally get by with various combinations of
Celeste Green
White
Black
My Pista Concept matte black with celeste letters was ******. Too bad the BB shell was defective from the factory.
Not mine. Just a pic for show:

My first track bike. Started as a stock TK3, stripped everything off but the seatpost, bought a set of Mavic Ellipse for training, and replaced all parts with racing gear. Pursuit cockpit is all Zipp with a Ritchey stem, and sprint cockpit is a Zipp SC SL-80 with 3T Aptos stem (hate the stupid reverse face plate bolts, will never buy anything like that again--you can't get a torque wrench on them!). Have a couple of non-disc fronts for racing indoors or outdoors, but I love seeing bikes with double discs, so posted this photo.
Everything's pretty dialed-in now, and have enjoyed racing five times so far...But I need another 2+ inches in top tube length, so this frame will probably be replaced in the next six months with something, not sure what yet.
I'm pretty impressed with the frame. The TK3 and TK2 are identical, and the tube shapes are quite well done. The seat tube and down tube are well shaped for aero, and the seat stays converging and hiding behind the seat tube are a nice touch.
