Aerotech is awesome, hats off to them (pun intended ) as they sponsored last year and this year the veteran benefit ride over the 4th of July riding Pittsburgh to DC.

I don't normally wear a helmet and buzz the head short. We ride all day on the weekends down in the Burgh and I don't end up thinking about it until I'm home jumping into the shower. OUCH!

I don't know the SPF of the Pace skull caps but I get a tan line on my forehead from them so apparently they work. I still have hair but its SPF is fading fast. I wear the cap for other reasons always. They simply make my riding life better. Cleaner, clean smelling helmet needing far few washes, cleaner hair, no sweat in my eyes, slightly warmer on cool days.

A sweatvac with the mesh top works well: keeps sweat out of your eyes at stops, and blocks enough sun to prevent burns for 11+ hours at a time (under a helmet).

If it is large enough, it will even tuck down over your ears to cut wind noise, but sizing varies.

Bandanas work but they have to be larger than average or they just come unraveled for me. I typically wear a cotton skull cap, sort of a pre-shaped/folded banana. Something like this...but not this...

I like cotton because it holds sweat. That sounds weird, but by holding sweat it's constantly evaporating and does a nice job of keeping my head cool. It's gross as a son of a gun, don't get me wrong. But it really does keep my head cool and protected from the sun. And the adjustable nature lets you size it right so it's not over your ears.

What I don't like are stretchy helmet liners because I can't find one that's either not super tight or that's not so huge it comes down over my ears.

When its cold I just wear a balaclava and that solves both the cold and sunburn problem.

Sunscreen is awful inside a helmet. It just builds up residue inside the helmet and it gets nasty. And then your helmet ends up smelling like rotten beach.

My hear is just thinning hair and I have several HeadSweats. I wear one on every ride — season doesn't matter. Amazon sells then.

No. Wear it like a beanie. Covers the head but not the ears.

106 miles today, mid 80'sF with rain on the verge and poured down after finishing used HEADSWEATS cap flipped and when it's in 90'sF use HEADSWEATS beanie with tail.

Looks like Marco used a bandana under helmet and without. I can't stand doorag under helmet in hot weather. I get too hot especially on climbs. I lather the dome in suntan lotion and may wear Headsweats head band. But your results may vary

I wear a Headsweats beanie, and it does the job. At first I thought the "distinctive short tail" was a bad idea, but it does keep the sun off part of my neck.

I like the original headsweats I used to be able to get with the terry cloth liner around the brim. Apparently, even the models not listed as "Super Duty" are all now Super Duty. I'm not nearly as much of a fan of the Super Duty construction they seemed to have rolled out with. They're thicker, no terry liner, and fit tighter (almost too tight for me).

I use it in cool weather but I suppose you can use it in warm weather. it certainly soaks up what flows, but you may want to bring a 2nd & swap it out halfway thru the ride

+1 on the SweatVac ventillatior cap. Should be cheap and cheerful if you order online. They also come in most of the major colors.

You wear it like a beanie not like a swimming cap. I just wear anything that fits my head. My latest adventure is a Cinelli Monster Track cap. I realise the irony of not riding a fixie. I have a big head so if the cap fits I wear it.

Just got my first two. The one I opened and wore definitely has terry cloth in the front half of the band, but it's captured inside other fabric.

No, mine just simply says headsweats with the stylized person logo and has the tie tails - I think more or less the original model?
