How old you look, is determined largely by your hair and skin. I looked young.
As I approached 50, I started to get some grey hair, so I started looking a bit older.
Even now, my mind is still like it was when I was 25, but my grey hair gives it away.
Many of my friends are young people.
There are some very fit cyclists, including some of the older people. But many people my own age would be too slow to go cycling with. Of course, many fit 25 year olds would leave me behind.

I also still eat a fair amount of junk food, sometimes drink enough that I get a massive hangover, play street hockey weekly with a group of guys that are on average 20 years younger than me and check out every piece of tail that crosses my line of poor vision.

I'm 56 as well, and still play Xbox with my 21 yo son, listen to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, to Lady Gaga and Eminem. Forget comfy "geriatric" shoes my peers are starting to wear - my last purchase was Adidas Ultraboost Lego edition. I don't believe as we have to get older we have to stay within the stereotypes of our generation.

Man, I was all over AARP when I hit 50. I think it was like $12/yr and I got some cheesy free bag with it. I took my kid and her friend to the aquarium the next week and saved like $100. Just recently saved another $300-400ish at the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach on a few nights. They have great AARP discounts everywhere. Welcome to old guy status...work it.
