Yes, agree, The pictures on the Giant website don’t do the bike justice. I’m glad I went with the metallic blue instead of the charcoal as there is much more pop to the look. Not that I had much choice as this was the only Roam 2 at my LBS. Yeah, the bike was originally spec’d with a 1x10 but changed to 1x9. Glad my bike has the 1x10 but the brakes on my bike are the Tektro M143 rather than the M275 listed on the specifications. They are probably both basic hydraulic disc brakes so if there is a deviation from the current specs, I rather have the higher gear range.

the fork is just some random unbranded ebay dealio. I'm getting some flak for it too, as if it's going to explode during the next ride around the park.

Sure. I could not find any information on the M143 either but have seen them listed as a specification on some other bicycles that have hydraulic disc brakes. I see them listed as the brakes for the 2021 Giant Talon 1 and 2 mountain bikes. I even read one Red* dit post where someone had the TDK143 on their 2021 Giant Stance 2 even though that bike is supposed to come with Shimano MT200 brakes according to the marketing materials. I have a feeling Giant is just using what they have available due to supply chain issues.

Looking at your photo's the only difference I can actually see is the actual brake itself. The part where the pin holds the brake pads is slightly smaller. The levers look identical to the 275's. Doesn't look like anything really to be concerned about. Looks like a mild makeover to me.

And it looks like the brake levers have adjustable position -- it looks like there's a little threaded screw where the lever connects to the plunger. I may mistaken, but I don't think the HD-M275s have adjustable levers -- so these may actually be slightly upgraded compared to the 275s.

I took a Coda Comp out for a test ride when I went shopping for a Hybrid. LBS had it on sale.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying it. I was thinking more about how to justify "another bike" to the wife. When I finally came to my senses a few days later and went back...it was gone. The 520 steel frame was so smooth and it was quick.
One that got away......

My 2013 Sirrus dusted off for a ride this past weekend. It's been neglected thanks to my two roadbikes, but I plan to take this out more. Need to find my black flat pedals in storage.

After Seek I bought a road bike and for almost two years was addicted to fast road rides and long distances... Since now I have a kid who wants to ride with me and was a bit bored with all that Strava roadie talk I decide to go back to hybrid and just enjoy in some relaxed rides this year
Initially I was attracted to Sirrus X but after test ride it was to much MTB feeling on it and I wanted something more road oriented (shop didn't have any regular Sirrus in my size only X models). So I ended up with Trek FX 2 disc in alpine blue. Few modificiations to start (Azonic pedals, lighter seat, seatpost and stem, Ergon grips) and few to arrive (1x crank, lighter tires)...also need to cut the steerer tube... Very very satisfied for now. 11.5kg as pictured, hope to go around 10.5 with 1x and new tires.

Hello, well my wife Jo and I have joined the ranks of Hybrid Riders, as of 3-17-21 I now ride a Giant Escape 3 Comfort model and as of 3-20-21 Jo rides a LIV Alight 3 model! I got in a 19 mile ride on the 20th. for the 1st. time and poor Jo only got to ride her's from the bike shop to home on that day and then on Sunday, of course being CO. in the spring time it snowed, RATS! Still snowing a bit here on Monday morning, gray and Cold. This is a big change of us, coming from recumbent trikes, then "crank forward" style bikes, (Mine: RANS Fusion Hers: Electra Townie 21d). These bikes feel lighter and even a bit racy! Going to take a bit to get the body use to the differences but I feel we could actually do a bit of weekend touring on these machines!!
Out and about on my new Giant Escape 3 Comfort Hybrid in So. CO. 60 F, sunny, a bit of breeze, next day SNOW, arrugh spring time in the Rocky Mnts. area can be a PIA!

2019 Giant Escape 3
I've been tinkering with my Giant Escape, added Axiom panniers on an Evo Classic rear rack & Axiom Roadrunner AR-MTB29 fenders with Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour 42-622 (700x40C).

Originally a 3x9 flat bar configuration. Changed to a drop bar and a 1x9 drivetrain last year, and I much prefer that.

2020 Sirrus 3.0
The Sirrus handles much better than anticipated on the bumpy limestone paths around this old quarry in west central Florida - the Weekiwachee Preserve. I switched from a Crosstrail Sport to the Sirrus because I was doing more paved path riding than off road. It's odd to me, but it turns out that I averaged a faster pace on the paved paths with the Crosstrail compared to the the Sirrus (according to my gps app). I expected to be faster on the Sirrus on the same paved paths! I'm able to ride further distances however with the Sirrus - I seemed to hit a wall after passing 20 miles on the Crosstrail. The Sirrus is around 9 pounds lighter with a lot of that due to a front shock on the Crosstrail vs the carbon fork on the Sirrus...

This is my hybrid bike, a Sense Activ 2020 model that I bought new in January of 2020. She was like this for most of 2020, fairly original:
Aluminum frame and fork, fairly heavy 38c tires, Acera components that frankly never had me completely satisfied. Lot's of adjustments needed fairly frequently, not sure why, those are not junk parts. Because of that, I decided to upgrade the drive train to a 1x11 SLX configuration. I also managed to do it on my own, I learned a lot and had lots of fun. I think half the money I spent in cycling in 2020 was on tools.
Anyway, this is how she's now:
Really happy with the results. The bike is now a lot lighter, faster, quieter and more reliable.

I probably need to take a better picture in a more picturesque location, but I got this FX4. I have put Shimano XT PD-T8000 spd/flat pedals on and a Duotrap sensor with a Garmin 130+. I had a saddle cover that we used on the Peloton which I tried, but I will probably look for a new saddle.
