Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I usually get a set of Shimano Tri color hubs from the Bay, order a set of Sun ME14A rims, order some spokes/nipples, then make my own wheels.

ETA- or save up and buy these for $360. https://www.huntbikewheels.cc/produc...-28deep-22wide
They are relatively light, decent spoke count, rebranded novatec hubs(no idea which model), and a modern profile rim.
Agree 100% about 105 hubs. Bombproof. Super smooth (same replacement races and bearings as Ultegra). Cup and Cone >> cartridge bearings. Just ask Shimano and Campy.

That said, the wheels you listed are very nice. The hubs are Formula rebranded as Origin8. Very nice.

Agree with everything you say about 105 hubs. Bombproof. Smooth. And cup and cone >> cartridge.

That said... the Archetype wheels you list are a bargain, and great wheels. The hubs are Origin8, which are rebranded Formula hubs. Nice.
