Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Remember there are older people that use flat bars on racing bicycles because is more simple and comfortable.
If it's got flat bars, it ain't a racing bicycle.

FYI - like the Japanese Bianchis, this is just a re-brand for that market. I very much doubt these are made in the same factories as other Colnagos.

Maybe not to you, but technically any bicycle can be raced, regardless of configuration Do you think Michael Rasmussen could drop most people here on their "Racing Bikes" riding the flat bar CF5 above? I would think so

While I'm at it, here's the Japanese web site for COLNAGO for anyone interested.

When I spotted that black Colnago Flat Bar (which I posted earlier in the thread) I decided I could do someting like that. The saddle (in the Giant CFR1 photo) is a Ferrari Saddle, but the red colour came off on my new jeans after it got wet, so I had to replace it.

Very nice.

Perhaps some manufacturers are finally realizing that there is a real market for elegant non-racing bikes that are not 40 lbs gas-pipe monstrosities with phony suspension.

Would it be more acceptable if the term "mountain bike rear derailleur" were replaced with "touring bike rear derailleur?"

Would you have felt better if it was equipped with Chorus flat bar controls?
