NYC street pic, no idea about the history of the bike or saddle. The leather looks very dry so it was probably rarely or never conditioned. Conditioning your saddle (and any other leather goods you own) with Lexol or similar whenever it feels dry is probably a good idea.

My B-17 was creaking recently, and I put some Leatherique on the underside of the saddle where it contacted the rails. Problem solved. I imagine that other leather treatments would work as well.
