Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My Felt racing bike with F-1 Scandium frame, Mavic SSLs, Dura Ace, FSA, etc. comes in at around or just under 16 lbs. Not bad.

BTW.....check out the velocity aerohead rims (405 grams!) and very nice. I don't think I will ever buy Mavics again.
Actually, just bought the wheels. Just waiting for the FedEx guy to bring 'em. Campy Protons. Got a decent deal on 'em for $329.00 brand new. We'll see how I like them. Haven't heard anything bad about them. I'm going with a 42 (c-c) handlebar and going to have to wait on the stem. I'm not sure. I'm actually going to have that fit for me at the LBS.

Did you get this bike back from the paint shop yet? I think I remember you were sending it out. I'd be interested in pictures of the new look if it's done. I love that frame and would be interested in what you did with it.

Unfortunately no. Acme paint in Portland is a one man shop and very much in demand. Dean's work can be seen here - www.vanillabicycles.com - as he paints almost all of Sacha Whites beautiful bikes. Dean has promised me it will be done by the end of the year, which amounts to almost 5 months he will have had the bike.

Meanwhile, the longer he takes, the better the components get. I'm up to Campy Record at the moment though no final decisions have been made other than the already purchased Rolf Prima Vigor wheelset and Look Keo pedals.

Thanks for asking.

Not like I have to say this (because I think I already did), but when it does finally get done, I'd love to see pics. I'm sure you'll be posting them anyway. Nothing like a custom bike. It should be a treasure.

Allow me to present the Colnago Uno unicycle. It's literally HALF the weight of a standard colnago.

nice photoshop job I'm actually looking at getting a Specialized Roubaix Elite Triple. I picked it up and it felt plenty light to me. I'd say it's easily under 20 lbs. Not sure of an exact weight though.

slvoid,

Actually, I will have to insist my little steel Barbie fits the category, as it is a bicycle....

Yours is a "Tricycle".

Therefore, you are disqualified.

My 1st line bike spec's at around 18 pounds. My winter beater is 25. My secret weapon is winter training and keeping my own weight down. You can't buy that.
