It's much easier to LCF if you live in a densely populated 200 year old city like, say... Paris versus Los Angeles. Guess which city is associated with the following population densities-- 3198 people/kmē vs 20700 people/kmē

I searched for Paris, France traffic and regardless of where I went with that, all those incognito cars couldn't escape cameras.
The first thing I got was a map of traffic flow that looks much like any other cities.

The best place to LCF if you want to be surrounded by a lot of like-minded people is India-- just 7 cars per 1,000 people... fewer than in Mozambique.

I would say that the ones who repeatedly make vague assertions and never back them up are hardly in a position to throw stones.

The automotive culture doesn't believe in that. It's called 'trade-in, refinance, and stay trapped in the vicious cycle of driving and auto financing.'

Like most attempts to pigeonhole a whole "culture" there are often times when the lines between pros and cons get either blurry or reversed.
I for one am glad there are automobiles when I call an ambulance or fire truck. Taxis eliminate a lot of private car use within a city and the need to turn living space into parking space.

This comment makes no sense without you explicating what your implicit assumptions are about the things you are talking about. It's like you want to say something meaningful but you don't want to go out on a limb by being explicit enough as to say something that could be considered wrong.

A bit out of date those old fins of the automotive culture...

With more energy many things become possible such as... more mobility.
But we have also come to understand that energy is among the most important anti-poverty tools, an underpinning for other development goals. Yet energy access as a way to fight poverty is often greatly misunderstood.
