Friggin epic.

I hope you drank a nice cold beer after that one. You freaking deserved it.

That's something on my 'to do' list, but I doubt it'll ever happen...

Webster Groves Crit. Took 2nd in 4/5 field. Field Sprint. Dude in yellow made a great move before the last corner for the win. I'm in red.

Thanks to StlBiking user GoPate for the pics.

thanks to ^oz, i've just discovered that someone caught me in a rather unflattering moment (on the front, out manned, and out gunned). iirc, this would have been an attempt at a counter. not sure.

Dude, kickass! Congrats. I can only dream of soloing for 2/3 of a race.

I'm good for soloing 1/45 of the race though.

I just saw them in concert a few weeks ago.
They were lame... extra lame as a mater of fact.
I liked their early stuff, but they had no stage presence and what-ever that "spark" is that sets great bands apart? Theirs was MIA.

There is a story behind this. Best said in my latest blog entry.
I've got to admit as a spectator there, I know that the crowd and announcer were all cheering for "Mr. Tortoise". (I believe his name was Steve.) That's a great picture of the two of you!

some retro suffering.

stowe road race, summer of '92. i either crashed, or got dropped. most likely the latter, but i can't remember.

note the scott drop bars, and fredelicious giordana mickey mouse polka dot gloves and bar tape.

nyc crit champs.

there's an funny story about this pic. it was taken by another racer, a nice guy if got past his macho Nuyorican schtick. anyway, he accidentally outed himself when he gave me the photo: it was double exposed, and it appears that he had taken a snap of a male stripper.

a crit in providence, summer of '93.

Hi botto,

I guess you looked pretty normal for 1993.

The Stowe Road Race was my last road race in the northeast before I moved to California -- June 1979. Drove up on Saturday, raced and drove home (Long Island) on Sunday and started driving to CA on Tuesday. Ah, memories.
