Out of sorts if you don’t ride?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Definitely. I have trouble sleeping on days when I don't exercise. I usuallly take two rest days/week and I always know in advance that I'm going to have trouble getting to sleep those nights.

More importantly, it's harder for me to shed the melancholy that comes with work and life stress without a daily ride. Cycling is my passport to reasonable mental health.

And if I take more than 3 sequential days off, I get deconditioning cramps in my legs. They are mild, but they bum me out.

Well I don't ride at all during the winter, I run. I only ride when it's warm out so every time I ride I feel like I make some gains improvements. So if I miss a week, then I feel it.

But in terms of my mood and how I feel? No way, no difference.
