Definitely. I have trouble sleeping on days when I don't exercise. I usuallly take two rest days/week and I always know in advance that I'm going to have trouble getting to sleep those nights.
More importantly, it's harder for me to shed the melancholy that comes with work and life stress without a daily ride. Cycling is my passport to reasonable mental health.
And if I take more than 3 sequential days off, I get deconditioning cramps in my legs. They are mild, but they bum me out.

Well I don't ride at all during the winter, I run. I only ride when it's warm out so every time I ride I feel like I make some gains improvements. So if I miss a week, then I feel it.
But in terms of my mood and how I feel? No way, no difference.
