Yes, this seem to be the sentiment in the more recent reviews of this tube.

They are on sale at Competitive Cyclist but I refrained for this specific reason.

Most of the folks I ride with won't use a patched tube. They give me their punctured, I patch them and use them. Other than the length of the stem I can't tell much difference.

Does anyone have experience with Pirelli RoadTube?

No experience with Pirelli tubes, but fwiw, the AirComp version of the michelin tube is available in 60mm for at least 25mm tires: https://www.modernbike.com/product-2126182501

OTOH, for deeper wheels, some folks go the valve extender route instead (eg. for you, the 20mm would likely suffice -- https://www.amazon.com/MBP-Bicycle-P.../dp/B07JV7R12D, which makes it possible to just stock one type/size of tube at home. However, these require starting with tubes with removable cores, which AirStops don't have.

Thank you! I totally forgot that Michelin has a lighter version.

I am good at misplacing small objects so tube extenders are probably not for me. Stocking two tube versions is not a big deal, especially when they are different models.

Same here for not messing up my Kuwahara Hirame seals. Spending most of the year in Southern AZ where everything green has thorns and known to be the
bike guy in the neighborhood I see a lot of flats and don't see meaningful differences in butyl tubes.

I just started using TPU tubes. It's not just a lot lighter, it rolls up really small. I used to struggle to fit a spare tube, a lever , a CO2 rig (and a first aid pack) into the tool keg. With the TPU tube it fits with lots of room to spare.
