You only got specialized brand in your LBS I suppose..

for your size and weight , have them change wheels at least.

a 32 front 36 spoke rear , or both 36 spoke ..

if you get the swap done at point-of-sale they will give you a wheel trade-in credit.

..but I may be biased. This bike has about 8000 miles of combined road/cross and single track MTB riding on it. Going strong.

Have you looked at the Giant Anyroad? A friend of mine created one out of a Giant Roam about 2 years ago, showed it to Giant, and now they have it as a separate model. I bet it would give you the best of both road and trail bike.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions. I am leaning towards the AWOL but have a bit of reservation on it being steel (weight vs aluminium). However, I'll wait to see it in the shop.
I am curious tho, no one mentioned Kona or Salsa bikes.

Hi again BlueDawg,

I have an AWOL on order but in Canada the Xl and Lrg are all sold out so I hope I will be able to get one. What do you think about the Kona "Jake The Snake" or the Kona "Rove" as a backup? I know its an aluminium frame but the rest looks pretty good. https://www.konaworld.com/jake_the_snake.cfm or the Kona Rove which is steel. https://www.konaworld.com/rove.cfm

Comments anyone.

Don
