After a month's worth of periodic attempts at getting a housing through the top tube, I waved the white flag and ended up using the two ports as cable stops. It was a good learning experience for sure plus I justified purchasing an inspection scope. Now to finish this project before spring arrives. A huge thank you to all who chimed in with ideas and comments.
