My vote: Pub bike

My Dad is building up his ancient steel Rockhopper for around town using a set of 2.4" DMR tires, SRAM 7-speed internal with drum brakes and riser bars.

It may not be "chopped" but he is doing his own braze-ons. That is one nice thing about older yet usable steel frames...the customization options are endless.

it's pretty obvious you should make this a cross bike (if you haven't already in 2 years). as some posters in-the-know stated, this is a nice frame. you could probably tour with it as well.

if you set it up for cx, you could use it as a "city" bike as well.
