Im sure glad you took time out of your busy day to post your snotty reply. Maybe you should take Thumper's mothers advice.

Yeah, this is absolutely correct. Being fit naturally and cycling is a great way to strengthen muscles too.

OK, yes, this has been going on now since nearly March.

My concern is that while bikes flew off the shelves because we couldn't do anything else (being mandated to stay home and only allowed outside for exercise), once people start going back to work and economy starts to pick up, will there be a start of a flood of used bikes onto Craigslist and FB Marketplace again?
My assumption is that yes, once people start working again, they'll stop riding. Bikes will sit around for a year. Then once spring cleaning happens next year, they'll see the bike and decide to sell it.

unless the weather in the states that have cold/snow conditions change between now & November, the hype will go away & people will go stir crazy. Not many average folks use bicycles when the weather takes a turn for the cold & snow times.

new riders are good, unless they are trying to ride fast and improve their cardiovascular system that way, then that's bad

I’m new around here and not super well versed in the bike world, but man, here in LA craigslist prices seems insane. 6-10 year old bikes at brand new prices. Think I’ll wait to upgrade.

I’ve been picking up some 26” mtb tires so I’ll have a supply on hand. I have a feeling when the supply chain eases up, it won’t for 26ers. They’ll be gone for good. At least the better foldable tires.

I’ve checked a few mfg sites and some of them don’t list the size anymore.

It is nice to see that more people are getting out and enjoying the pleasures of cycling. But, the shortage of bikes we're seeing in department stores and LBSs as a result of COVID-19 isn't completely a good thing. A LBS here in my community is closing permanently because they're unable to obtain repair parts, and new bikes to fulfill customers' needs. It's sad because I've used this LBS a lot over the years. It's been in business for more than thirty years.

Link to the letter posted on their website: https://pedalpowerri.com/m/PP_Closing.pdf

Well actually, the first Star Wars movie (episode 1) was made in 1999; Hayden Christensen was born in 1981. So yes, he was born before first one was made. He also played Darth Vader in episodes 2, 3, and 6 (although in 6 you only see him at the end when he force-appears as Luke is burning Vader's corpse). I thought he also appeared as Vader in the Rogue movie, but I guess Disney couldn't afford him. Oh well.

The episode numbers obviously weren't released in order. :facepalm
What do you call the movie they did in 1977?

Well, you got Hayden Christensen's birth year correct. That's an improvement.

I call it "Star Wars" and as far as I'm concerned it's by far the best since it totally changed how SF movies were made.
I'm baffled at how people dismiss it now.

[QUOTE=rydabent;21660081]Wow, that's twice you've quoted and responded to that post. You must be looking for more feedback. OK. Why start this thread about something that's been discussed here on BF for 6 months? Not exactly "news." A few reasons come to mind. 1)Troll- there's quite a bit of support for this theory among BF members but let that rest for now. 2)Rip van Winkle- well it's possible someone has been asleep or oblivious for 6 months but that's not very flattering. 3)Recycle- you've mentioned before that you like to re-post your threads periodically so new members can benefit. Misguided or not, at least it's a conscious decision and puts you in the best light!

The star wars movie from 1977 was the fourth movie in the series, hence it's literally called "Episode IV: A New Hope" at the opening of the film. In any episodic story, the "first" episode is always episode 1. That's a pretty standard convention. So even though Disney made them out of order, the first star wars movie is still episode 1, because that's where the story actually begins.

Not just that, but I think it's a travesty how Lucas has constantly tweaked the original 1977 movie over the years; adding Jabba the Hut, changing the scene at the cantina, etc, etc. All the additions jump out at everyone as the cheap CGI images that they are and they are a glaring and obvious difference from the original footage. I'm not a Star Wars fan, though, so maybe my opinion doesn't count. Maybe the true fans love the changes. I don't know.
