Bushwacked at the LBS OR this Mirella followed me home.
I stopped by my LBS wendsday to have them spin off a 'Schwinn Approved' freewheel for me (I really HAVE to get a FW-4 one of these days...) when Dave looked up from the computer and smiled. "I hoped you'd drop by" he said. "something came in I've been saving for you."
I gave him the $150 he asked for and packed her in the back of the Rav.

Looks very original, a lot of work to clean up, but definitely worth the $150. Nice one.

thanks for posting. enjoyed seeing this. a bit unusual that an all NR equipped bike would take a 26.4 pillar but that has to do the Leri tubing. one account i have read is that the company was primarily a steel tubing fabricator.
tip: i have had trouble getting those Nuovo Tipo QR skewers to hold on the rear. they tend to want to slip under pedalling loads.
the lady pictured on the head emblem is Mirella herself; head of the Leri company.

The SA freewheel is going back on the '74 LeTour mixte it came off, but you might get the Regina CX 6-cog 14-28 from The Mirella to work your magic on.

I'm guessing the seat tube is straight gauge with 1mm wall thickness. 28.6mm seat tube O.D. - 2 x 1mm walls = 26.6 - 0.2mm tolerance between ST I.D. and seatpost O.D. = 26.4mm seatpost.
