Best cleaning method... disc brakes?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

rubbing alc dont dissolve much greases and oils imo. if you really want to clean the arms of the discs for instance you should use brake cleaner.

that being said I have never cleaned any of my rotors for the sake of cleaning them. only when contaminated. I have one bike that i commuted on for 4-5 years. never washed it, and never cleaned the brakes. there simply is no need to do that unless you want it looking clean. Dirt prevents thieves!

Does anyone with Shimano RS805/505 have these pads? They're Shimano resin pads. I ask because they're less than $7. Wondering how well they work, if they squeal and if these actually fit. Because they don't look like the stock pads on the outer portion. Mine have those fins.

they will fit, and like other resin pads, they don’t squeal(unless wet).

They don’t have the cooling fins, but unless you have long descents, I doubt you’ll notice a difference.
