i think your results speak for themselves and it is funny when people talk power while looking at race results (and even talk $hit about the race winner, as in they have higher power).

So pumped that I just fixed / jury rigged my washing machine. Thing wouldn't spin or drain so I used my mulitmeter a few places and determined that it was the lid safety lock. Bypassed that crap and it works fine.

In terms of sprinting, yeah. I only get competition at the national level. But that's my strength. FTP and w/kg is my weakness. Happily, regional racers don't really know enough tactics to exploit that. National level racers sure do!! So as I make that jump next year, we focus a lot on my subthreshold and FTP to have me even in the mix for the sprint...so then I can just do my thing.

Have you raced track at all? You're not terribly far from Rock Hill and your skills might lend themselves well to the track.

I have thought about it. I'm about 2.5hrs from Rock Hill. I agree that my talents would lend well to track riding. Still a possibility. We're still focusing on being a roadie, though.

Oh yes. I've had 5 of them. Prices are up, up, up. I have two dogs and a wife so I can't DD one anymore, but it was fun while it lasted. Cheap to fix and run forever if you can keep the rust at bay. Don't buy one in the NE.

anyone want the death of marco pantani, by Rendell?
PM me your address and I'll send it to you. Pass it to someone else when you're done.
I have several more I'll toss up here soon. None of them are really holding my attention, honestly. But that probably has more to do with my lack of interest in pro sports and celebrity, than the quality of the books.

It's like he's playing a different sport than everyone else. It doesn't seem fair.

All I know is that there are at least 3,000 different swimming events in the Olympics.

Put in my upgrade to Cat 1 today.
The Crossroads Classic results haven't hit USAC yet, but hopefully that happens soon. It'd be nice to be a 1 for the remaining races.

How about track cycling? Or shooting. Or modern penathlon. Or archery. Or basketball, or soccer. Or literally anything else but more swimming.

No joke. And for some reason we get to watch every single heat and semi final of every single event. Is NBC aware there are like 700 different sports at the Olympics? Why don't we try watching a few of them sometimes instead of an interview with a swimmer after the 5th heat of 18th event of the evening.

There are a few other subNBC channels that offer some coverage as well and have been carrying some of the less popular (?) sports like rugby, table tennis, indoor volleyball and so on. I'll throw it on in the background the days I work from home and will catch a few cool things here and there.
Track and field started today, so expect a whole lot of that over the next week.

Yeah, the prime time coverage has pretty much sucked. NBC will start with gymnastics, then cut back to a bunch of swimming, and then come back for the gymnastics finals right before the end at 11. I'm not staying up that late for something I'm marginally interested in seeing.

According to 538, Volleyball is actually the most popular, but swimming is up there.

The prime time coverage is pretty rough because it jumps around all over (and covers sooo ... much ... swimming). My wife likes watching the gymnastics (since she's a former collegiate gymnast), but we have to record it to blast through the other stuff.
