I’ve pretty much been of the opinion that with all other things being equal, a tire with a higher pressure had less rolling resistance than one with less pressure. With that in mind I generally aired my tires to the max pressure value imprinted on the side-wall. Since that is an opinion, I will concede to scientific evidence that states otherwise. Recently, regardless of opinion vs science, I’ve decided to lower my tire pressures to facilitate a more comfortable ride . With max pressure in the tires, the crumbling condition of the roads in my area can make for a very unpleasant ride. Perhaps not “bone fusing” but certainly bone jarring! I’ve always kept the front and rear pressures most equal but I’m open to running the front tire with less pressure than the rear.

haha...i never measure my tire pressure. if it rides rough, let some out and squeeze. if it's too soft (ie. danger to rim or tube), add and squeeze. but, then, i haven't run less than a 38mm tire in many years
