I agree this thread should win the Thread Title of the Year award.
If the poster really can't tell if he should be worried about hitting a 5 year old vs. his bicycle (which I doubt) he shouldn't be bicycling or driving.
For best troll thread, I'll still vote for this thread from January

That said, I think this one still has what must be considered front-runner for Title of the Year.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I tried to be helpful on your other posts, but the sheer number of problems your having tell me that either you're having lot's of fun at our expense, or should consider putting away the bike and taking up golf.

You all speak a lot but you are unable to see what's obvious: The pedestrians are far too many everywhere. You can see this every minute while driving your car; if each of you would try to solve at least a part of this issue while driving, maybe you could shape a better world...

Who's Hillary?
Sounds like we need some solid troll patrol out here.
First of all, does the OP have any evidence of owning a bike (even if he posted a pic here, it could be fake). It's so easy to fake anything on the internet. Perhaps he doesn't even ride a bike. Perhaps he is a she now.

Take some time to review the threads he's started and you will have your answer. Trying to be helpful is a waste of time.

For this very reason, I rarely ride MUP's anymore. But when I do, I never slow down and announce myself. I've gotten into more sticky situations by announcing myself going slow. It scares people and usually causes them to wobble in either direction. My strategy is to slow down before I get too close and wait for an opportunity to pass on the far left when there is no on coming traffic.
Or I go super early, but at that time, you get the dog walkers with the leashes..... can't win!!

This thread gets me every time. The idea that we are all more concerned about the bike before the little girl has me gripping my sides each time. Sorry needed to let that out.

Easy: avoid the trails, and you'll avoid all the people on them!
Seriously, someone else was talking about being afraid of cars. Personally, I dread riding on busy paths - the chance of a mishap is far greater, unless one wants to ride at a jogging pace, and frankly, that's not always easy.

Cars are, for the most part, predictable. You assume they're trying to kill you, but generally they stay in their lanes, etc. On the "multi use path" you've got all sorts of pedestrians, with headphones or earbuds, completely oblivious of their surroundings. And if, by some miracle, they hear your "ON YOUR LEFT" they don't do anything or even move more into your path. No, thanks. I'll take my chances with cars.

Well, sounds like this one is done, guys just using this as a hangout. Nothing good can come of that.
