I just measured, and with the Adidas Sambas I usually ride in, I have a PBH of about 29.5", and that isn't including room for my, well, you-know-what(and this is important since I frequently ride in jeans, with no bike shorts or anything for support). By most standards, for my height, I "should" be comfortable on a 51-53CM frame, but I just feel better on a smaller frame. For top tube, I find a ~61CM effective top tube length( top tube+stem) to be comfortable, which works out on a lot of smaller frames if the top tube is 49 and the stem is 120 or some similar combo.

lol, that reminds me of that part of Brave Heart where the guy goes "William Wallace is ten feet tall", or something like that (though Wallace was actually really tall in real life), I dunno why.

...maybe it's because I'm a legend!

I'll contribute pics of my 48cm Univega Arrowspeed mixte here once I get better pics of it. I just put harlequin-woven cloth bar tape and some shellac on it and though it isn't a perfect wrap, I think it's pretty enough. (Btw, the wrapping was HARD!! Seriously!!! And I spent 4.5hrs being obsessive about it but it's still wasn't perfect )

Found this on CL for $40, my nephew is going through a hipster phase(he's 13, so I forgive him) so I built him this bike. We call it "The Littlest Hipster" and it is super fun to wheelie. Standover was around 24 in if I remember right.

I met a girl riding an IRO, She was itty bitty and was able to special order a tiny frame. As for the Fuji, I've got a few more nieces and nephews and my 5 month old won't be riding it for a few years, so I think I'll hang on to it

I got this for my wife about 1977. Ben Serotta was just getting established & custom-built the frame for her for a very reasonable price. I have never seen a more carefully built bike: the lugwork is masterful. She still rides and loves it.

Hmm. I hate to give this away, but my Velo Cheapo build, at present, is actually a drop bar, 10-speed road bike for a little person. And I don't mean short. I mean a little person. It has 20" wheels and full 2x5 speeds, stem shifting. I'm looking for the proper saddle, but so far, I'm pretty close to parts I need. It started life as a Mongoose.

Here's another of my girlfriend's bikes. A Japan-made Bianchi Special from the early to mid-80s. It measures 50cm c-to-t but with a 55cm top tube, hence the bars:

Here's a little bike my 9 and 11 year old daughters could ride (if they could handle a fixed gear) that can also be ridden by my friend who is six foot four...

For some truly small vintage riders...

My 9 year old's ride... a 1973 Raleigh Fireball that I built for her last year.

My 11 year old's 1980 Raleigh Saffron... which is an adult bike.

put a top tube on that, drop the fenders, and that's about what I'm building as a 10-speed.

Man, I wish I'd have snapped a picture of the Nishiki that I gave to my sister. Blue Nishiki Sport, about 47cm. It was so small that the head tube lugs were actually joined as one. It's just a bit small for her, but works well. The drop bars freak her out though.

I built up a 47 cm Norco for my friend as she is a tiny girl... it too had the joined lugs at the head tube.

I should get a few pics of it as it is a really pristine looking bike.

I just built up another Peugeot UJ10 that has a 48 cm / 19 inch frame but this bike is unusual that is has the same stand over as a 52 / 21.5 cm frame... Peugeot altered their basic frame by custom brazing the bb to bring it up and left the head tube alone so there was no need for tight lugs and a short stem. It also gives the bike 12 inches of clearance at the bb with 27 inch wheels.

What this does is makes a small framed road bike that can still use full size wheels and provides abundant clearance... they were designed for smaller riders and my Peugeot is the same model that has had a number of mods to make it fit me (and it fits well). It has a longer stem, 170 cranks, and a longer seatpost.

The geometry is also fairly aggressive and is unlike a UO8 in that respect.
