With Voler stuff, I find that just getting a long sleeve jersey to put over a short sleeve one is a pretty good option. Their long sleeve jersey has a thin fleece-type liner and is warm enough for chilly days. It's not what you'd use if it's really cold, but it's a nice addition if the temp is in the 40's. I usually wear a Voler medium race-cut jersey. Getting a medium club-cut long sleeve jersey will make it big enough to fit over a base layer and jersey. You could also go a full size up if you wanted to.

I wear small club cut SS jerseys and buy a medium LS jersey, which is about 1/2 size larger, for winter use. I'd rather layer that with that another winter jersey that zips, and a wind shell vest over it all. Add a second base layer if it's really cold. That way on climbs I can unzip a bunch and then zip up for descents.

thanks dude...things are coming together quite nicely. These days its not as easy to move across the country without a job in place. I was able to secure employment before the move. That was my only anxiety about leaving. (thats the only reason Ive stayed in FL so long- a great job). So Im feeling rather fortunate.

Hard to leave a job if you've become close to people there, and after that long you must have made some good friends.
You said Mrs hammy has family in Colorado, do you have people there, too?

I was thinking about this stuff yesterday when my boss threatened me again because I won't work Saturdays. I would miss some of the guys I've spent hundreds of hours with over the last 15 years. Anyway, yesterday afternoon he got fired, so I'm off the hook for now.

Honestly, for the most part, other than a few friends, there are few people I'll really miss. As far as the folks I work with- we do not see eye to eye on things; mainly on a personal level. Im ready to go.

Mrs Hammy has family and friends there, and Ive gotten close to them over the years.

I hope your job gets easier now...

gl w changes Hammy and John.

Today outside work I took some pics of my fg road bike:

Love this thing. I do about 1/3 of my solo training on it year round

Currently on the 18t. I like to keep them RPMs up and do a little climbing on it.
Other side is a 15t (also fixed) for vroom vroom tempo rides like drum n bass

ring is a 42

Some of his highlights from 2 years in charge include driving away half of the crew in the first 6 months, including 2 guys who had been there 10 years, one of whom was the best engine man I've known. He hired 2 guys to replace that engine guy and they aren't close to his ability.
He drove away all of the service advisors including a 12 year guy who had a good following of customers. He replaced them with some real dufuses.
In a place like ours everyone has to care and try to make it work. If we hate the manager we are more likely to let stuff happen.
His recent idea to try and bring back customers was to lower prices on nearly everything, in some cases by half. Since we get only commission, we don't like the idea of having our pay halved, so we cut corners and stop caring. It also hasn't helped our volume at all.

Anyway I had a nice 5 hour club ride today, the faster tormenters went on a different ride and the only solid racer who showed up was so hung over and dehydrated that he cramped a few hours in and couldn't cause any trouble.

Wow! spring arrived in Southern Ontario for the weekend...Temps in the mid 50F with light winds! Morning was a bit damp and foggy, but once the sun broke through it was simply awesome!

Got 3.5hrs plus in, bike is a mess due to the wet roads, but who cares! Popped a spoke on my Williams Sys30, but that sucker stayed true enough to ride another 40kms...

To finish off the day my wife and I went to Hamilton Out of the Cold and helped feed the needy...Nothing like a bit of perspective in your life!

Tomorrow looks wet so I'll probably be forced back to the trainer and then next week it's back to sub zero normality...

Went and watched the Road Race nationals. Damn the pros and elite riders are fast and make it look easy. It was good to see Julian Dean close out his pro career wining the bunch sprint for the bronze medal.

I'm finally home... Rode 6.5 hours today. 102 miles in the hill country. About 20 miles dirt road.

should add.. I think that's the best route I've ever ridden.

So, what should we do .... hmmmmmmm........ 16 year old daughter borrows the car to go to a friend's house. Then calls and asks if she can sleep over ... I reluctantly say "ok". My wife and I each wonder if she's up to something .. (she's been good so far) .... We call the house she's staying at .. no answer ... I drive over and don't see our car .... drive to the boy friend's house ... no car there either ... hmmmm .... hidden in his garage ?? She finally answers the phone and I tell het to come home now..... but it's taking her a while ... should be home by now.
