HumbleCyclist, I'm looking for the same thing you are: a week long adventure in a warm place in the Southwest or in California. I'm an experienced rider with First Aid and bike mechanical knowledge.
Have you decided on a route? Are you sent on the days? and lastly, are you open to companions? My main point on NOT riding solo is safety but I'm very flexible.

Update: I'm going to Austin TX to ride around Texas Hill Country on the ACA route! (thanks Mev and BlarneyHammer for the suggestion, I wouldn't have thought to go there otherwise!) Thank you everyone else too, I'll keep the other locales in mind for future trips!
Panchothepug, thanks for the offer but I'm looking for a solo adventure this time around. Have you chosen a route yet?
I'm flying in and out of Austin, and will spend 5 1/2 days riding 320 miles (the original ACA route is 300.) I'll be following the ACA Texas Hill Country loop going clockwise from Austin, with one route mod on the last day from a friend who recommended this cycling route that dips south to lake travis for sunset. It does add 20 miles so I found a place to stay near the lake and spend the morning of my last day doing a quick 20 mile victory lap back into the city.
For anyone who still has doubts about the godawful winter I'm escaping next week:
