Having a hard time swallowing being back at the bottom. Took me five years at the regionals to finally have enough seniority to have some say and control over my life, and that’s gone again. Don’t get me wrong I’m extremely happy and blessed to be where I am at now, but it’s def. hard adjustment.

Decided to try brevet pace partner today. I have a lot of pent up rage at my job at the current moment.
Started me right at the volcano climb, which you all know I excel at climbing……. I hung for about 6 miles. Stopped when I started feeling pressure in my knee, and realizing it was more work than fun.
Spent the rest of my time with cadence. I find cadence is way too easy, but brevet is way to hard. Wish there was a goldilocks version.
Most of the snow is cleared off the roads but the temperature has already dropped to 24 degrees. I am hoping to ride early in the am but I would be lying if I wasn’t concerned about the ice. main roads are clear, but getting out of my neighborhood will be a challenge. I have to leave again tomorrow, would like to get one decent outdoor ride before then.
LAJ i’m in denver tomorrow night.

Word on the street are the runways aren't up to spec either. When this was being built, the gravel for concrete was being freighted in from all over. We aren't allowed to mine it here, so rather than face delays they took a shortcut or two. Illuminati are wise to that, so they live in the newly constructed hotel now.

Anquetil has a significantly higher w/kg, but swings back the other way and is light, which makes me wonder how long I could hang on to that group ride - I should be fine on the flats and downhills, but I'd have to be feelin' my Wheaties if there's an extended climb. Actually, I did ride with Anquetil for a little bit, once - I caught them from behind, somehow. I hung around for a bit, but was ultimately on a different course and ended up splitting off at a fork in the road.
But yeah, part of me thinks that varying only the w/kg of the pace partners, while keeping the weight constant, might make the groups more evenly spaced... but it might also make them more boring and give riders fewer niches to identify with.
