My first bike was a pumpkin coloured midget machine, adorned with Super Mutant Teenage Ninja Turtles stickers that probably made it go 25 mph faster... C&V, already an old klunker when my dad bought it for me on my insistence at a flea market. I was the terror of the neighborhood, tearing up the pavement as soon as my training wheels were taken off. No pics (that I know of, maybe I should raid my parents collection), sorry, just wanted to share one of my favourite childhood memories.

Look at all the pretty orange!

This bike now carries a bottle cage and pump. I rode it on my commute yesterday, its first longish ride:

Some look reddish to me too, including my own bike which is decidedly bright orange in person. It may not be your or my screen, but the camera. Color reproduction isn't necessarily an exact science, it would seem.

Yes Jim, your nice Bertin was the one I was referring to, along with a couple of others. Of course, there are several different shades of orange too.

Well now that does it I'm gonna get the Volare powdercoated this winter. Yes it will be as close to the original color as I can get with a gold metallic topcoat.
