Although, this thread took a detour in 2020, the OP's question was related to whether there was a Chicago Schwinn MTB. Since some may argue that the King Sting and the Sidewinder are some type of MTB/BMX hybrid, what about the 1983 Sierra? This is my October 1982 built 1983 Sierra, would this fit the bill of a Chicago built Schwinn MTB?
