I never made it to my 60 miles this past weekend. I read all your advice. Pack the high carb stuff. I need to drive 107 miles to get to this trail. I need to do it once as it will complete seeing this 90+ miles of the trail.
BUT ... I was so excited and didnt get a good sleep. Heart was pounding, etc and it was 1 AM before I sleep. Adrenaline overflow? I have to wake up at 6 AM to get there.
Bummer.

I don't like too sugary of food and as long as the pace is slower I suggest nuts and dried fruit. Or just a PBandJ sandwich.

This is a great way to get a lot of calories while not carrying a lot of weight. I eat about a pound of cashews per week whether I'm riding or not.
