Is “drip” wax a gateway drug to real wax?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I start a fresh chain with hot wax and then top off with drip wax as needed. May do a full re-wax every 1000 miles or so.

is this a sign that I’d like immersion wax even more, or am I getting most of the benefits without most of the hassle?
Why are people so ridiculously obsessed w/ lubing their chains? FFS it's just a bicycle chain. Don't you losers have anything better to do?

Theres lube talk on virtually every forum, whether that is a car forum, turntable forum, boat forum, or penthouse forum.

I put this stuff on my forklift mast chains a week ago. Make sure whatever you put it on is clean. The video is accurate. It goes on, coats the object and stays. Thins out some. So far so good.

My first wax-based lube was Squirt and the experience was so underwhelming that I didn't seriously make the switch to immersive waxing until I saw that ZFC started recommending CeramicSpeed drivetrain cleaner over OMS/denatured alcohol. It's not difficult or much of a fuss now but I'm totally willing to go back to drip wax if I can get a bottle of Flower Power lube.

I've been using flowerpower, ordered directly from the company's website, for a couple of weeks now. Very smooth, very quiet, and Strava says I gained a few watts on some uphill segments.

no big watts here. Did about 60 miles today, i think it needs a re-drip. Still felt smooth but noisier. Looks great though, no comparison to the dry lube i was using, which turned everything near it black within short order.

It should be a FAQ with the answer, yes, use lube. Period.
