Thanks everyone, I have indeed grabbed the bike from him, and it's lovely.
Handed it to my lbs for a service and sanity check. I suspect it needs some new cables and a right good greasing, but other than that she seems good. I have christened her Calli ;-)

My ‘92 Merckx Century is a great ride. My dad’s ‘74 Masi Gran Criterium still rides like the champ ( State Roads ) it was. Old is very subjective, a philosophy I embrace at age 61!

I agree with Seattle Forrest ; this bike is begging for an outside summer ride.

Speaking of too old, just bought (today) a 2015 ORBEA Orca M20l in Cofidis team colors, full Ultegra, with less than 250 miles for less than a grand. It will be my trainer bike. They are still out there.

My back hurts just looking at how agressive that setup is though

Did you change some stuff since you bought it? Cause I'm not seeing a sub-1k bike with full Ultegra here...

I suspect that Kimmo is referring to the crank set and chain rings being FSA components rather than Shimano Ultegra.
I'm assuming the levers and brakes are the 'full' Ultegra, lol

Don’t ask my advice, nothing I ride is newer than 1982.

Kimmo 's eyes are so sharp! That or this plebe is simply not sufficiently familiar with Dura-Ace level components.

300 Quid? In this flaccid supply chain constricted market? That is one good friend.
