Question for the CAADites.
I'd like to lower my handlebars a bit as I've gotten comfortable with the initial position the shop fit me at. C'Dale says no spacers on top, but how important is that? can I get away with one or two without compromising anything? I'm not sure I want to take it in and have the shop lop off another 5mm or steerer tube in case I have issues going lower.

Finally got my https://slamthatstem.com/ in the mail. Just in case you keep wanting to go lower and lower, the headset cap is almost 2.5cm, so ...

Hi, im new here so i hope this is the right place for my question.
I keep hearing all kinds of creaks coming from my BB and HT area when i get out of the saddle i.e.
The place i bought it at told me on the phone the grease may have dried out because i haven't ridden/touched it for about 9 to 10 months (due to health issues)
Could this be the problem? and is applying grease something i can easily do myself?
edit; It's a 2012 CAAD10 with Shimano 105 and a ****ty FSA triple crank

My FSA crank (fuji bike) was creaking after a few hundred miles, greasing and re-install fixed it until the FSA BB started to go (~3k miles?).

It's possible it wasn't greased when it was put together, or that they didn't tighten the pinch bolts properly. A torque wrench is suggested for the pinch bolts, but otherwise it isn't difficult. You can find installation info on FSA's website. The important part is when you tighten the pinch bolts, only do a little bit on one bolt, then alternate to the other bolt. This way they both come up to tension at the same time (instead of one being tightened fully before the other one).

Yesterday i removed the fork to apply some grease when i noticed they didn't properly adjust my headset too,
so there was enough play to make a loud ticking noise whenever i put some force on the bike.
Sadly it didn't solve the creaking issue around that area..

I just got a "new to me" Flash 29er and really wanted to share a photo of it on here.
Now I know it doesn't have "CAAD" in the name so for fear of being flamed I figured I'd post this pic of my CAAD10 from my ride up to the Peak-to-Peak hwy in CO first.
Now here's the mtb. Sorry it's so dirty; depending on how much trouble I'm given for these, I'll wash it and post another later of my two Dales together all cleaned up and shiny.
Before flaming too hard though, please note that it DOES say CAAD on it.

Awesome Cannondales!
I wouldn't mind a cleaned up mtb photographed together with the CAAD10. I love that they are both black/white. By far my favorite color scheme on Cannondale's.

Type A question for ya'll.
I ride a 2012 CAAD10 3, white with red letters.
I'm looking into saddles, and I've decided I want a white saddle (after seeing great looking versions). I have white handlebar tape now. The Fizik Antares seems to work well, but I only got about 25 miles on it during demo (knee was hurt). 13 miles were bad, but I had the nose pointed up. A leveling and a 12 mile spin felt fantastic. Sitting on it on the trainer feels the good as well.
My question:
-$150 for Fizik Antares in white with red flanges
OR
-$118 Fizik Antares Rabobank (all white) with white bar tape
OR
-wait on a saddle purchase
It seems like a no brainer, but I guess I just like the idea of matching the bike real well.
Local stores don't allow Specialized saddle demos. I'll just be allowed to ride various Specialized bikes with the different saddles. I'm interested in the Romin and Toupe. I've only tried flat saddles at this point.
Saddles in terms of comfort:
-Fizik Antares
-Prologo Scratch Pro
-Fizik Arione VS
Should I just try to be patient and try out the Specialized saddles? I'm not too good with patience, especially if more comfort is on the horizon. I also lost several cheap auctions on Toupe 143 saddles in the past few weeks, otherwise I might have given it a shot by now.
Ok, I'm done ranting and asking questions for a bit. I figured I'd come to the Cult for answers.

I recently purchased a Fizik Antares versus and love it. Just did the Denver century on it last weekend actually and had absolutely no troubles. I can't say the same for the stock prologo that came with the bike. It wasn't so bad really but compared to the Fizik, I wouldn't go back.

So does anyone have a definite answer on whether the 2012 caad 10 frames are different from the 2013? what about the 2012 supersix evo vs the 2013?
I'm deciding between a sweet deal on a 2012 supersix evo or going with a 2013 caad 10 105! I'd also look at used caad 10 105's if they're the same in 2012.

The only thing different is paint and spec.
Frames are exactly the same.
