Lately, when I have been cruising the vintage parts on ebay, I always stop and admire the pedals. And it doesn't matter what kind of pedal or if it is "correct" for a current build. I love them all (and toe clips too). And don't get me started on the Speedplay museum, that place is heaven. I may need help but is there any particular part/component that floats your boat?

For a long time I have been thinking of buying a two lots of 10 bearings from ebay which fit suntour superbe and superbe pro pedals. There are 2 sizes. I have 2 sets of pedals 2 lots of 10 would be 5 pedals worth. Anyone interested in replacement sealed bearings for their superbe pedals.. i.e. a small group buy?

Sorry, didn't mean to derail. I do have a derailleur thing, I will buy any exotic derailleur even if I don't need it. I have a galli mising pieces, parts of 1st and 2nd gen C-record (currenly making it to one high polished 2nd gen.) Mavic, Sachs huret, whatever I can get my hands on at the local shops. I really love 1st gen chorus. I rebuild them all too. There is nothing more satisfying then taking a Nuovo record down to it's individual pieces and greasing and lubing everything after you have made is spotless and then putting it back and having perfect smooth operation.

I love pedals.

I've got a couple sets of Superbe and three sets of Shimano 600 track pedals - the affordable ones which look identical to the Dura Ace which goes for BIG money. Both these brands/models are bullet proof and absolutely beautiful in form and function. I enjoy rebuilding them, even.

Also some Nuovo Record.

My Superbe(s) are smooooooth and don't need rebuilding.......still I might order a set of bearings, just because. I didn't even know they were sealed type. Is that so? Not loose?

Just for info, do you have a schematic/blow-up of the Superbe so I can educate myself before committing to you for an order? Do you know cost yet?

Not an exploded view, but it talks about the set up.

The bearing are just pressed in. On the last set i had i just used the axle itself to tap the bearing out.

I forgot about hubs, I love a good hub too. For example my only interest in an 80s build would be because of some Sheriff Stars.

Ditto on the Weinmann concave rims, redneckwes! Well, sour grapes, you're welcome to them all -- they're on the heavy side.

I seem to have a lot more hubs (particularly fronts), of all different kinds, than I will ever be able to use. They're like rabbits in my parts box.

I likes me the pedals, too. Dura Ace 7400 is my weakness, but the fixie folks have ruined them for me. Last year I picked up two pairs with Binda straps for $35/pair. This year, never mind, more that I'd like to spend. And to get a Campy Chorus or Record platform, ferget about it!

Actually the Shimano 7400's are good for real track riding where more clearance is needed, such as the local 45 degree banked wood track at CSUDH. I had to pay $50 for my set sans straps about 2 years ago...still much better than sliding down 20 plus feet of boards. I saw too many guys catch a pedal and go sliding, not for me thank you.

And for some reason Huret derailleurs - although I don't own any (yet).

I like 70's and 80's Huret Derailleurs, they stand out in a sea of Shimano and Suntour.

Campy pedals do it for me. I've got 1.5 pairs of NR track, a pair of 90s Chorus, and a pair of Triomphe pedals, probably my favorite of the bunch.

c-record track pedals are probably the sexiest ever, though I wouldn't kick a pair of Superbe pros or TA pedals outta bed for eating crackers.


MKS make some really nice ones too.
