Those C-Record pedals are almost too pretty to put your feet on them.

I've jumped around a bit...I had and kinda still do have a fetish for rear derailleurs. I think the latest count of them just in boxes is nearing 55 or so. Lately I've been head over heals for Hi-E stuff. I've got a box of hubs in different configurations and a couple wheelsets, pedals and cleats, skewers and my newest addition a lil bottle full of nipples (thanks to a great C&V member) and the spoke wrench thingie to go with them. I used to be all crazy about cranksets but I've cut that collection down to maybe a dozen of the must haves (TA, Stronglight, Campy, Galli, Ofmega, etc...). I love drillium stuff too and grab it whenever I can...Wish I could collect Pino stuff but it is much to hard to find. So far I've only managed to snag a pair of skewers which are amazing IMO.
Hopefully one of these days I'll actually get my display case refinished so I can pull all the stuff out and show it.

I hate them. They look good, and that's about it. Can't ride them on the tops, and mounting levers can be a pain before one can get them to look right. STI/Ergo's are out of the question.
Take care,

I have a fetish for women in slinky underwear. I used to ride 65's exclusively and agree with everything Kurt dislikes about 'em.

Ahh, yes, the old Lyotard No. 36 Chromee. Made from sometime in the 1950s, through the early 70s. Don't mind me, I found this thread, and your pic, while doing a search. I have a pair that need some cleaning on the outside, but they already spin just fine, before a servicing, and I even have both dust caps. One dustcap has a light touch of rust, but if the name fits, it "should" clean right up. We'll see. EDIT: I forgot to say, I also have some old Cat Eye pedal reflectors, Model RR-0217-GZ (or something very close to that), which weigh one side of the pedal just enough, to keep the pedal at a very convenient angle, for putting your foot on.

BTW, I like pretty much all of this stuff, but my real fetish (pronounced feet-ish, I think, LOL) is for anodized anything, especially bright colors. I have anodized Mavic rims, and I really like the little jockey pulleys on rear derailleurs. I just got a pair of the coveted purple ones recently.

How about decals?
I love them. The font, the size, the color and design can really make or break the look of a bike...

Shiny bicycle bits....LOVE the good, old chrome bits, but alas, they tend to collect rust...AL parts, you can shine em up, pretty well. Then there are parts yet to put on a bike, have this pair of Gipiemme Sprint pedals I got a ways back, NEVER riden, but have been test mounted....I do not have a ride that seems worthy of them...I may end up trading them for a bigger volume of used, scratched and rusty bike bits....that seems more my style! :-)

My favorite pedals, I hoard every pair I can find,...... short thread, long thread, English thread, french thread.
Almost everything else kills my feet.

Aha, no wonder noone else can find them. I figured I kinda owed it to the bicycle gods, to clean these ones up. This was a pretty good first run, I might try detailing them a bit better some other time. They're far from perfect, but certainly "presentable", for being 40-60-ish years old.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Thee are so many Campy copies out there they can be hard to count... love my Suntour Superbe pedals which really set the bar pretty high for just how smooth a pedal can be.
Found some NOS Lyotard 460D pedals a while back and the Lyotard "Course" pedals on my '57 Peugeot are still as smooth as silk.
MKS has done well to fill that niche for nicely made quill pedals with a vintage look in the Sylvan track, road, and touring pedal and it was companies like MKS that put European pedal manufacturers out of business... that and a changing market for pedals.

I really try to like pedals, but the silly prices for ones that get my attention just keeps me from doing so....
And then I saw this recently.....
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-STRONGLI...item43b6188f5a
They are French, So cool looking and I never saw any of them before.....but really??, that much??!! REALLY??!!...and they have been discounted a hundred bucks already since they were first offered, plus they have the less friendly french threading on them too!..... It's pedals like this, and some recent pairs of Assos, Gippiemme (Supercronos) pedals I came across and so many used, bashed up and rusty NR pedals that seem to be worth their weight in gold to their sellers lately that keeps me from developing a fetish for them......and there's also those nutsy MKS quills that just DO NOT WANT any kind of toe strap installed through them too. Pedals hate me,.....the really do.....
Wish I could share a pedal fetish instead of a rant, but Dang!, that's just the way it has been with me and pedals since I really got into the C&V thing about three years ago.....
